The Pendants Story
The Stomatopod (mantis shrimp) pendants crafted on this chain come from the largest known weapon in the entire Stomatopod (mantis shrimp) species, an enormous Dactyl (spear). With this monstrous Dactyl (spear) the Stomatopod (mantis shrimp) dominates the sandy depths of its domains. The scientific name for this ocean creature is Lysiosquillina Maculata or more commonly referred to simply as the Giant Zebra Spearer. This particular pendant is the embodiment of wisdom and patience which is the primary attributes of the species that this magnificent necklace was crafted from. Giant Zebra Spearers can live longer than most Stomatopods (mantis shrimp) so naturally they have seen more than most of their kin and thus are wiser for it, not to mention being such large predatory ambush organisms means that they will wait for long periods in order to capture an unsuspecting meal, so much is the wisdom and patience of this particular species that it will sometimes employ ‘live bait’ in the form of allowing smaller crustaceans to crawl around it in the hopes that their presence lures in a hungry fish.

The Giant Zebra Spearer will ‘allow’ these smaller crustaceans in its presence, they do not provide anything for the Stomatopod (mantis shrimp) as some believe that they may clean the Stomatopod (mantis shrimp). But the Giant Zebra Spearer like all Stomatopods (mantis shrimp) are completely capable of cleaning their entire bodies themselves. So logic stands to reason that this monstrous predatory crustacean allows smaller would be food for itself to remain in its presence (sometimes crawling over its massive eyes) so that they will lure in larger tastier rewarding meals in return, the small crustaceans gain a guarding albeit a dark one using their lives for its own gain.
